day 26

day 26--my week, in great detail

Sundays:
wake up around 8 (if i'm lucky), take a shower, get to church by 9:45 to set up for the kiddos, leave church around 12:30-1, go home and feed judah while we watch a disney movie, put him down for a nap, i then try to take a nap (if allen lets me...the man doesn't SLEEP!!), feed judah again around 5:30-6, depending on the sunday we either go to church again or get to stay home and relax!

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays:
wake up at 6:10ish, get judah up, take him to daycare, walk to school, class from 8-12:50, walk back to daycare, work till 5-5:30, go home, fix dinner after getting judah his, allen gets home, bathtime for judah at 6:30-7, play with him till 7:30 or 8 then put him to bed, allen and i watch tv for most of the night (i'm usually on the computer)-unless we have amber and cody over, then we play PHASE 10, bed around midnight after a shower

Tuesdays:
wake up 6:10, get judah up, take him to school, walk to school, class from 8-5, walk back to daycare to get my kiddo, go home/go to store to get food, allen goes to his mtg at church while i relax for an evening, bathtime, bedtime for judah, and usually/hopefully an early bedtime for me!! :)

Saturdays:
wake up as late as i can (usually 8:30...sometimes i'm lucky and get 9:30!), feed judah his breakfast whenever he wakes up, go run errands--bank, grocery store, babies r us, come home to see if allen's awake yet...it takes him forever!, lunch with my little family, come home and play with judah till he gets fussy, naptime for him, movie/relax time for allen and i, judah wakes up and has snack, dinner, hanging out with friends, bed

my life is pretty monotonous as you can see...

day 25

day 25--my day, in great detail

6:10--wake up...well, actually hit the snooze for about 20 minutes and then wake up (because judah inevitably will hear my alarm go off and wake me up himself)

6:30--get judah ready for school, making sure i don't forget everything in the process

6:50--leave for school

7:00-7:15--arrive at judah's daycare....talk to his teacher, let her know how his night was, etc. Then it'll take me about 15 more minutes to ACTUALLY leave because he's gotten super attached lately and will NOT let me go....plus, he's cute and i don't wanna leave him until i absolutely HAVE to :)

7:15-7:30--start on my trekk to school..i walk about 4 blocks to school everyday, rain or shine...tons of fun! nooootttt..

8:00-12:50--school---this consists of being at UK and at an elementary school. occasionally i can stop by my house and grab a bite to eat, if i'm lucky

12:50--i start my 4 block trekk back to judah's daycare so i can begin my shift

1:15--start work..i work in the nursery at judahbug's daycare. i get to change poopy butts and get puked on every day..it's lots of fun, can't you tell?? ha

2:45ish--i start to hit my midday slump...i get super tired and especially if i am feeding a baby, rocking doesn't really help me stay awake

4:30--parents start to come get their babies..i start counting down the minutes until i can go home!!

5:00--i usually get to leave. i go across the hall and pick up my baby boy. he gives me the biggest hugs and i'm always so glad to see him!!

5:30--arrive at the house....traffic is usally a beast, so it takes FOREVER to get back! i start dinner while i feed judah his dinner. we wait for allen to get home..

6:00--allen gets home..plays with judah while i finish up/start dinner, whichever i'm in the mood for at the time..

6:30-7:00---bathtime for judah..sometimes allen gives the bath, sometimes i do. if he does, i'm usually washing up dishes or cleaning up dinner stuff. if i give judah a bath, allen's on the computer.

7:00--playtime with judah until bedtime

7:30-7:45--judah goes to bed. he's still in his crib, so i can just throw him in there and let him keep himself entertained until he ACTUALLY falls asleep. meanwhile, allen and i are watching tv while we listen to judah babble to himself. it's so soooooo funny!!

8:00--allen and i usually watch something on tv, or a movie, or just have some time together. that's hard to come by these days

9:30--i start to get really sleepy because i'm staring at the computer

11:00--this is when i would love to go to sleep, but allen thinks i need to stay awake really late...so i suck it up and stay up the extra hour

12:00--bedtime

day 24 (and going off on a tangent)

day 24--where i live

We live in Lexington, Kentucky...home to horses, the famous UK Wildcats basketball team, Keeneland, and Johnny Depp (oh and George Clooney!).we've been up here since August 2009 as part of a church plant that started while i was still pregnant with judahbug. I like it up here as far as you know, having friends to hang out with. it's not like we are in South America away from everything we love and hold dear. .....but (and that's a BIG but...)....i miss our families! they are the best thing, and yes, i didn't realize it until i didn't have them anymore, but i really really miss every one of them! i miss allen's mom's cooking, his dad's perverted jokes, james' hugs, my dad's awkwardness, my mom's laugh, my grandma's crazy unexpected comments, and my papa's puzzles. i miss going to my grandparents house on sunday afternoons for lunch and then stopping by allen's parents' to hang out for the rest of the afternoon. i miss greer (yes, i really do miss it!) and the small town-y ness. i miss knowing all of the roads, shortcuts, pretty places...being able to drive down a road i don't know and know that it's going to end up somewhere i am familiar with. i miss publix. yeah...i did spend 6 years of my life there, so i DO miss it..i miss my friends that are left in SC. i NEVER get to see them when we visit, and it makes me so sad. i miss the fact that most of my life has happened there (at least all of the important stuff), and i most likely will never move back :(

there are SO many things i miss, but there are some good things about being up here. it gives allen and i a chance to make a start that's kind of "on our own" in a way. i mean, we have lived by ourselves (pretty much) since we got married, but we've never had to learn how to cope without the whole "falling back on the families" thing. if something ever happened to us at home, allen's dad would be there in a second, and i am sosososoooo thankful that he always came to the rescue. i miss having that safety net, but i think us being up here is helping us to learn alot. we'll always have our families...i know if something came up or someone got hurt, our family would be up here in a second. they are pretty cool that way ;) but yeah, we are finally getting the chance to be big kids now, or should i say, adults?? we are up here out of our own choice and now we get to learn some more...oh...and there's probably some other good perks from being up here...new restaurants, pretty scenery, and new places to explore..

on another note..i guess this has to do with our "where we live" part of the blog..we will be moving to a house in paris, kentucky. it's about 13 miles or so from where we live now. it kind of came out of the blue. one of allen's co-workers' family members is moving to Arizona to take care of a grandbaby and will be gone for an extended period of time (at least 2 years) and they needed someone to live in their home and take care of it. so...we are doing it. honestly, it came out of the blue, and we totally weren't expecting to be able to live in this home. we had a price in our heads of what we were willing to pay, and when we walked in the house, we both thought there was NO way our number would be met. BUTTTTTT....God is very good and somehow we managed to not only meet our number, but get this wonderful home for $100/month less than we'd hoped! it's crazy!! soooooo....in mid november, this wonderful couple will be venturing to AZ and shortly after, allen, judah, and i will be moving in (for at least a year, probably longer). i'm SO excited, you have no idea! the house is kind of out in the country. all of our friends are just not gonna visit. but i'm still happy. the house is off a very country road that is home to nothing but horse farms and beautiful farmland all the way around. it is a grayish whitish color, vinyl siding with a red tin roof. there is a HUGE backyard with a firepit, apple tree, garden, man cave, storage, well, and even a side yard that's separately fenced and always shaded. there's a small, screened in front porch that leads into the living room (which is really spacious!). off of the living room is the master bedroom, which is nice and cozy...and it's got windows!! i'm so glad we get to move into a house with some natural light!! haha..going through the living room there is a hallway. to the left is a bathroom, and to the right is an office/walk through bedroom type thing and another bedroom through that area, as well as another bathroom. i think there's a utility room also. going back out into the hallway...at the end is the kitchen, which has all new appliances and granite countertops. off the kitchen is the laundry room and a door to the outside (that isn't used unless it's an emergency). there is a back porch/sunroom at the end of the kitchen that goes out to the back yard. the owners are still finishing it up so it can be ready by the time we move in. but yes, i'm so excited, thankful, speechless, happy, grateful! judah has a yard to play in! i have a place to go running where i know i won't be encountering crazy traffic constantly. and i can be out where life is a little more quiet. i love the city of lexington, but i'm really happy to be in an area where it's less hectic..and less traffic!!!!! there will be pictures to follow...as soon as we go back and i can get some ;)

wow, that was a long post. until later...

day 23

Day 23--A YouTube video

well. my computer is being gay........sooooo i guess i'll just have to tell you that there are two. they are pretty much the same thing...

first one is "antoine dodson--'we gonna find you'"---it's funny!!

the next one is the same exact thing but made into a song...i think it's called "the bed intruder song"

these are so hilarious!!!

until next time...

day 22

Day 22-a website

i don't look at much online honestly even though i DO spend alot of time on there. my life consists of checking email, going to people.com for my latest celebrity news, and facebook.....that's IT! sometimes i'll find something interesting on youtube or i'll read people's blogs, but besides that, nothing.....

Day 21

Day 21-a recipe

(as taken from the Pioneer woman)....all i can say is YUM!!!!!!!!!

Recipe: White Chicken Enchiladas

Prep Time: 45 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Difficulty: Intermediate
Servings: 6

Ingredients

2-½ cups Cooked, Shredded Chicken
2 cups Reserved Broth From Chicken

3 Tablespoons Canola Oil

12 whole Corn Tortillas

1 whole Large Onion, Diced

3 whole 4 Oz Cans Whole Green Chilies, Diced

1 whole Jalapeno, Seeded And Finely Diced

1 teaspoon Paprika

½ cups Heavy Cream

2 Tablespoons Butter

2 Tablespoons Flour

1 cup Sour Cream

2-½ cups Monterey Jack Cheese, Grated

Salt And Pepper, to taste

Picante Sauce (optional)

Cilantro, Chopped

Preparation Instructions

Heat 2 tablespoons canola oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Fry tortillas for no longer than 20 seconds, just to soften (do not allow to become crisp.) Place tortillas on a large towel or stack of paper towels to drain.
Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in separate skillet over medium heat. Add onions and jalapenos and saute for 1 minute, just to start the cooking process. Add chicken, half of the green chilies, and 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Stir together. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and stir. Add cream and stir, allowing mixture to bubble and get hot. Turn off heat and set aside.

In a separate large skillet, melt butter and sprinkle in flour. Whisk together and cook over medium heat for one minute. Pour in 1 1/2 cups chicken broth. Whisk together and cook for another minute or two. Stir in the other half of the chilies. Reduce heat, then stir in sour cream. Add 1 1/2 cups grated cheese and stir to melt. Add 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Check seasoning and add salt and pepper as needed.
To assemble, spoon chicken mixture on top of tortillas, one by one. Top with plenty of cheese and roll up. Place seam side down in a 9 x 13 casserole dish.
Pour cheese mixture all over the top of the tortillas. Top with extra cheese if you’d like, then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle generously with chopped cilantro.
Serve with picante sauce, if desired.
Faint. Repeat as needed.

day 19

Day 19--a talent of mine

well, i think every one of my friends would agree that my best talent is remembering birthdays. it's sad, really. if i have just met you, i will remember your birthday somehow. i can even guess birthdays. i don't know why in the world God gave me this wacko talent, but if it makes people laugh, then i'll take it!! :)

Day 18

Day 18--my wedding day

July 22, 2006

Oh, wow...it's been four years!! that's crazy!! i doesn't seem like it was that long ago, and i remember everything! i remember i stayed up SOOO late the night before changing my vows (we wrote our own and i was so nervous to talk in front of people)...but i woke up feeling like i'd had a full night's sleep. it was rainy looking outside, so of course i was FREAKING OUT! i went to publix (i lived there practically), got a donut, then left to get my hair and makeup done. went to the mansion where we were getting married and then got ready from there. i don't remember anything until i was getting ready to meet up with my dad and walk down the aisle to see allen. i remember i was so scared (not cause i didn't wanna marry allen, i was just nervous b/c all the people would be looking at me!! yikes!!). when i got to the people i remember certain faces..brittany sinde, joy espinosa, my papa, allen's mom..and then i saw my hott husband. he looked so handsome. and yes, as i was walking up the stairs, i almost tripped. we had decided to do our own vows, so i wasn't 'up' on wedding etiquette...so basically i stuck mine in my top. well, pastor lee tells us its time for the vows, so allen does his (which by the way, were so cute because he thought he'd be fine and say lots, and he told me he loved me and then cried....so cute!!)...then it comes time for me to do mine. so what do i do?? i just pull them out of my top, not thinking that it was weird or anything. well, let me just say it broke the awkward silence that weddings tend to have. everyone was laughing and it was great. i was a blubbering mess, but i got through the vows. we had so much fun at our reception. allen took off my garter to the song "like a virgin" by madonna. i don't think anyone will forget that. it was pretty funny too! after we left, we came back to get our stuff for our pre honeymoon trip and had to kick allen's groomsmen out of our house ;) and then we went to our little cottage for the weekend. i wouldn't change a thing about our wedding. it was awesome getting to marry my hunny. i would do it all over again!

day seventeen

day 17-an art piece

Day 16

Day 16-a song that makes you cry

Oh...i'm very emotional when i hear certain songs....but probably the one that makes me cry the most is "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Frank Sinatra. I know, it's a Christmas song. But I think this past Christmas it was especially meaningful, seeing as it was our first one with our little boy. I always play music in judah's room when he goes to sleep, so of course during the holidays, he gets to hear all the carols and good songs. Well, i walked into his room as he was peacefully sleeping, and that song was on. and i just stood there, watching my little man peacefully dreaming. as i was listening to the words of the song, it just made me realize how blessed i am, and i cried and cried. each time i hear it, i think about the peace and the quietness of that moment, and of the holiday season as well, and i just well up with joy.

ok, enough of my sappyness..

you all have a great night!

Day 15

Day 15- Your dream house

Hmmmm....i love the mountains AND the beach...pretty equally. allen loves the beach though, so i guess i'd have to stick with his favorite location. trust me, i'd have NO problem living at the beach. so, that being said, i would probably move to charleston, sc. i love it there!

so pretty!! (and a little yard too!)

beach overlook from the living/dining rooms

BIG kitchen!! this is my DREAM!!

oh, another dream of mine!! personal mini pool!! beautiful!! :)

oh, and i can't forget..a personal path to the beach....so i can go whenever i want!!!

yes, this is heaven to me...shade...pool...palmetto trees..beach....
i would be such a happy girl!!

.... now.....back to reality....  ;)

Thursday, September 16, 2010

day 14

Day 14-a nonfiction book

I don't read a whole lot of nonfiction books, but this one was really awesome (especially if you are a parent). It helped me put some things into perspective and also helped me through a difficult time in my life. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Day 13

Day 13-a fiction book

The Eight by Katherine Neville...such a great book! i really need to read it again..i am so behind on my reading..and this book has chess involved....i'm not sure how i actually got sucked into it, especially with me having NO interest in chess, but it's a pretty good read..

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Day 12

Day 12-Something I'm OCD about

oh....there's lots.......but here's a few

1. I have to have closet doors, bathroom doors, any doors near me closed when i am going to sleep. I get freaked out when doors are open (and i see dark)...i think all "scary movie" stuff

2. I have to vacuum at least once a day...no matter if there's stuff on the floor or not

3. i have to have a PERFECTLY made bed before i get in it to go to sleep!!! this gets on my dear husband's nerves so much, because usually he's in the bed as i'm making it

4. Dirty clothes go in the dirty clothes hamper, NOT 7 inches away......help teach my husband this...he doesn't seem to understand this concept. it drives me insane!!

5. LOOK IN THE REFRIGERATOR---THE FOOD IS IN THERE!!! i know where everything is in my fridge...allen, on the other hand does not. he goes to look for ketchup, and "can't find it"---EVER! i think this one falls more under the "pet peeve" category, but i figured i'm on a roll with things involving allen, so i'm just gonna go with it..

That's all for tonight, folks! I'm going to watch Prince of Persia with my hot husband!

oh tuesdays...

Tuesdays are the LONGEST days ever! i am in school from 8am to 5pm. Not that it's really all that bad. like normal working hours. but i'm not working! i'm sitting, listening, and NOT GETTING PAID!!! and to top it off, i don't get to see my hubby until like 10 at night b/c he has meetings....but on the flip side, i do get a little "me time" where i just get to do whatever i want. most of the time this involves me going to Redbox and getting every new movie out and watching as much as i can before allen gets home...or i'll watch tv...or i'll read magazines...or.....i'll participate in my new favorite hobby---wait for it-----crosstiching! yes....allen HATES it...he's like "you're not 80 yet, so why do it??", then he reminds me of the time i tried to take up knitting...........but yes, i am doing some sort of sewing..and i like it..and i don't care what anyone says. i can be eighty if i want to! ;) oh yeah, and did i mention i usually eat ALOT of ice cream (if i have it in the freezer) too???? i LOVE ice cream!

well, enough of my ramblings for the day...i've got to go to my last lab and then go pick up some movies to watch tonight while i crash on the couch!!!!! ;)

Monday, September 13, 2010

Day 11

Day 11-a recent photo taken of you

I wish i had a newer, better picture. Allen, Judahbug, and i decided to go to the drive in movie in Paris, Ky, and we went picture crazy! It was so much fun! (and i'm so glad judah took a picture where he's actually smiling...he's starting to want to smile for pictures again lol)..i hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Sunday, September 12, 2010

day 10

Day 10-a photo of you taken more than 10 years ago

i think this was in 7th grade...i was 12 or 13??? my mom made me keep my hair short (really short!!!)---another blog for another day....but anyways.........i was on a church ski trip and i had blown my hair dry upside down, and Jamie Newton (now Spencer) had gotten this picture of me! we were laughing so hard! it was such a fun trip! and a fun room of girls!!! GREAT memories!!

Saturday, September 11, 2010

happy september! (and day 9)

Well, I can't believe it's already september! This is one of my favorite months, well, mainly because of fall! i LOVE LOVE LOVE fall! it's by far my favorite season..i love the sweaters, football games, the cool air, and the crispy crunchy leaves i get to step on while i walk to school. I love the pumpkins and Halloween and mainly the getting ready of the Christmas season too!! I love the CANDY! and everything being beautiful shades of orange and yellow and red. sometimes i wish it would just stay this weather all year round...i love cool nights and warm days...i do not like winter at all...i like the first snow and that's about it. i like spring okay, but HATE the allergies! and summer, well..it's just so hot! if it's gonna be like that, i just want to be at the beach for 3 straight months.......so this is why i love fall! i'm ready to go pick a pumpkin and carve it. i want to go to every festival known to man, and i want to just be able to enjoy the season and not rush through it like i seem to do with everything else. but anyways, i'm going to run. i'm watching braveheart with the hubby, enjoying the peace and quiet while judah naps :)

on to day 9

A Photo You took:

this first picture is at the University of Kentucky arboretum....i love sunflowers, and so in true form i wanted to try to get a picture with the pretty sky in the background....it turned out way better than i wanted..and it was such a gorgeous day!

This second picture is one of my absolute favorites. i had gone to the park with my little booger, and we were having such a wonderful time relaxing in the spring sun! It was right at the start of warm weather and it was just so nice to get outside after a long winter! (and he's trying to ignore mommy's kisses i think..more focused on the cheeze it)
