wizard of oz day

It's totally a Dorothy day. Like crazy winds, humid air..I'm waiting for the tornados to start. Seriously. Trick or treating is even cancelled for tonight....HALLOWEEN. Who does that?! yea yea yea..safety schmafety. I was totally looking forward to taking the kids out for treats (no tricks in our house haha). But I guess the good ol' city of Lexington is postponing it all till tomorrow night. Which REALLY isn't that bad. At all. So instead we'll probably go to the mall tonight, maybe the KY horse park and get some candy for the kids. Judah has wanted to wear his costume every single day since we bought it a month ago, so i know whatever we do he'll be happy. I think he got to wear it to school today for their party, so i'm sure he's fine. I was just looking forward to a relaxing night. (And i'm serious about the crazy wind and torrential rain). But it'll be fun. As long as i can keep my kids from eating too much candy and getting oversugared and cranky.Which totally happened on Sunday at our family fest for church. It was CRAZY busy and SO MUCH FUN! We had a really awesome turnout, and we are super stoked for what's to come.

But anyways, I really hope the weather holds out for a little bit and it just starts being terrible as soon as we get home. Fayette Mall here we come :)

Apple time!

(kiddos at the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago..)

October...already that time of year. Unseasonably cold today, but I guess it's our first taste of what is to come. I hate winter. Dreading it as we speak actually...Autumn is, however, the BEST season of them all!! Pumpkins, apple cider, hay rides..i could live in fall all year long!! Thank goodness i haven't been THAT obsessive about going to Evans Orchard. We have only been twice. Maybe one more time and we'll be good. But apple everything?! Yes please!! Apple slushies, apple pie, apple fritters, apple dumplings, caramel apples.....SO GOOD!! I really wish one of my kids had been born in the fall so that we could celebrate a birthday at the apple orchard. Oh well.

On another note, the kids got to meet their great grandma from Washington for the first time earlier this month. We just went out to eat with her and Charlie and spent some time hanging out at the house, but Judah loved it and was really excited to meet her! He even (much to our dismay), gave her such a big hug that he almost knocked her down! She is in her eighties..still spunky, but she is shorter than me and very thin. So, needless, to say, that was something. But she seemed to really enjoy seeing them. And I had fun getting to see her after seven years too!!

On a completely unrelated note, did you know that my daughter is absolutely obsessed with superheroes?? I guess that's what happens when you have an older brother. So without further ado, here's Batgirl :)

Judah's castle

Well, it's too late to even TRY and update on my/our summer, so I won't. Life has just been very busy. Lots of changes taking place. No, we aren't moving or having a baby. Just life. And learning new things about it every day. We are so happy, though. Last night, we drove all the way to Frankfort just so that we could have some Pizza Inn (a little taste of home for us). Spur of the moment of course, but it was so much fun. The kids always love going there because its a buffet, so they can eat whatever. Judah loves the chocolate chip pizza, Sky hates it. I think she hates food in general. You wouldn't know that from looking at her. :) We get to drive by the castle whenever we go, so that is super cool to little man. He even asked us if we could get a castle like that to live in. HA. Dream big, Judah. Dream big.

But his little bit of faith (or a lot in this case), makes me want to be a bigger dreamer. You never know what life will bring, so you might as well do it right, right? I love that my four and a half year old can have dreams and goals. Sometimes I wish I was young again. To not over think those goals/aspirations. Which is what I do constantly. The "what ifs" get in my way. So all that to say that dreaming big is good. And being happy is good too. And we are very happy.

To more happy little moments that help us get through it...all while staying in pursuit of the big dreams that may come.
