2 months!!

2 whole months have passed since our little girl's arrival!! i can't believe it! i took her to the doctor this morning, and she weighed in at 11 pounds, 3.5 ounces...not shabby! she is up almost 3 pounds from her birthweight. i was looking through judah's baby book, and at his 2 month appointment, he had gained FIVE POUNDS!!! that is insane!!!! but her appointment went well, for the most part at least. she cried real tears (for the first time i might add) when they stuck her with the first needle..it was awful! i didn't feel so bad with judah because his legs were like tree trunks..he didn't even cry!  but mikaela definitely did. it was terrible, but only for a few moments, then she drifted off into dreamland for the rest of the day...actually she is still sleeping and it's almost 10pm...hopefully she won't have too many issues tonight with her sleep. we have been very blessed on the sleep issue! thank the Lord for that!!

anyways, hoping we have a great, relaxing weekend!! i can't wait to spend some time with my family! :)

They always say that time flies when you're havin' fun..well, we've definitely had a lot of fun these past few weeks. we went to go see our families at the end of August. we decided to take Skip (my Honda) because Allen's car is: down-one-air-conditioning-condenser-that-costs-at-least-$600-to-replace-so-we-didn't-want-to-burn-our-children-up-riding-down-to-the-HOT-south-at-the-end-of-summer..sorry for my stream of consciousness moment. So we get down there and unpack all of our stuff and go to sleep. Easy enough. I decided to wake up early to visit my grandparents with the kiddos..i go to the car. I start the car. it makes a really weird, kind of like it wanted to start up but couldn't quite get there kinda sound. So after waking up Allen in a panic and almost having a complete meltdown, we took the car to Steve in downtown Greer. The car needed a tune up, so we did that. It was out two spark plugs and not working up to par. We go pick up the car, I start it, and it still makes the same noise!! I'm a little angry at this point because they were supposed to FIX the car. We send it back to see what the other problem(s) could be. It turned out that the fuel filter needed to be replaced....which on a normal car would not be a problem, BUT b/c I have a Honda, it's connected to the fuel pump. that's right. we had to spend more moolah to get an entire fuel pump and filter!!! BUT $500 later, it's fixed and will hopefully be okay. So all of that on day 1 of our trip to SC. On a more positive note, we got to see a bunch of our friends and had a great time with our families! we went to Paris Mtn. State Park and let Judah swim around a little bit. He is a little daredevil and will jump into the water with no hesitation! i got to see Melanie and the kids..Judah had a great time with the boys. I think that he wants to think he's older than he really is, even though he's only 2 years old. But he had a great time, I had a great time FINALLY seeing my long lost friend :), and now i'm ready to see her soon to be here baby boy, Michael!

Right after we got back, i headed back to work (finally!)..i was about to die from not working! Fortunately, I get to be in Mikaela's room so it's not that bad at all! I just get to love on babies all day long. For now, Mikaela just sleeps and eats and poops, so there's not much to being with her at daycare for now. She is, however, starting to smile and reach for things..she loves seeing Judah and i'm pretty sure her favorite person is Daddy! i know she definitely has his heart! Judah loves his little sister so much and every time we get out of the car to go into the daycare, he'll get up into her face and give her a big kiss (which is probably why she has a monster of a cold right now)..but that's ok. They're great together. I take Mikaela for her 2 month checkup on Friday..i'm excited to see how much she's grown! i know she's not nearly as big as Judah was at his 2 month appointment, but she has gained some weight.

Like i said, time flies...i can't believe that September is almost over!! So much for the hot summer days and playing outside..well, maybe we can manage to play outside until November or so...we'll just have to see. Bring on the sweaters and pumpkiny things!!
